General

Gates open at 7PM. The film starts at last light, you can check out when the sun sets HERE. As we are an outdoor cinema we need it to be dark for the film to be visible on the screen.

Absolutely! Sunset Cinema is the perfect place to enjoy a family night out or entertainment the kids for a few hours. Also, be aware that we sometimes show films classified MA15+ (for the adults) which require children under 15 to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

To fully enjoy your Sunset Cinema experience, we suggest the following things:

– Layering up or bringing a blanket for those chillier summer nights.

– Insect repellent to keep those mozzies away!

– If you haven’t hired any seating then you are more than welcome to bring you own rugs, pillows, lawn chairs ect. Just be aware that taller chairs will be restricted to the back of the grounds so that everyone can see the screen.

– If it looks like it’s going to rain then a poncho is recommended as we will only cancel the session if the weather becomes heavy and dangerous. We will also have a limited amount of Ponchos and blankets available on-site. No open umbrellas are allowed during the screening.

– Friends, Family or Dates; Sunset Cinema is best enjoyed with others!

We love to see your snaps at Sunset Cinema. You can share them on Instagram with us by tagging @thesunsetcinemavictoria and using #imasunsetter & #sunsetcinema so we can see & repost them. However, we request that no professional recording equipment or flash photography is used during the film.

Barefoot Cinema has merged with another independent outdoor cinema provider, Sunset Cinema. We are still committed to bringing you an amazing cinema experience under the stars.

Ticketing

You can purchase your tickets online. Simply select your session from our PROGRAM and then your tickets. We do not have an onsite box office and all tickets must be purchased before you arrive.

Yes. Simply show your tickets displayed on your phone at the gate. You can even save them to your apple wallet. Just make sure you have them ready before you reach the gate to avoid unnecessary queues.

No worries. Sometimes our confirmation emails get lost in your junk inbox, look for an email from tickets@sunsetcinema.com.au. You can also access your tickets by logging into your account HERE. Still can’t find your ticket? Email us at info@sunsetcinema.com.au

We understand that sometimes life can get in the way of a pre-planned night at Sunset Cinema. If you would like to swap your tickets to another session, simply:

  • Go to your Sunset Cinema ACCOUNT and login. If you purchased with a guest account you will need to create a new account.
  • Click ‘list tickets’
  • Select the tickets you would like to swap and select ‘exchange’
  • Follow the prompts to choose another session.

There is a $1.50 exchange fee on all tickets (excl seating) plus any price difference. Tickets cannot be exchanged for a transaction that is lesser value than the original. Tickets can only be exchanged up until 24hrs before the session time. Unfortunately tickets & seating are non-refundable.

You are able to exchange your tickets to another session. However, refunds are not available if you are no longer able to attend or change your mind.

General admission for children under 3 is free. They do not require any type of ticket for general admission. However, if you want them to have a bean bag or entry to the Tim Tam Lounge then you will need to purchase these.

The Sunset Lounge is the premium way to experience Sunset Cinema. Add this onto your general admission ticket and you will receive, a reserved bean lounger, seating in a prime viewing area & bottomless popcorn.

We’d love for you to check out the Sunset Lounge! If you already have a general admission tickets, then simply go back to the screening page that you are attending and select the Sunset Lounge upgrade.

Our ticketing provider charges a $1.60 booking fee per admission ticket. If you decide to exchange your ticket then there is also a $1.50 exchange fee for tickets (excl seating).

We recognise most carers cards. If you have a carers card then you are entitled to 1 complimentary ticket, simply show your card at the box office to gain entry. Any questions, please feel free to email us at info@sunsetcinema.com.au.

Our standard adult ticket has been heavily discounted this summer to include all relevant concession, senior and student prices within the one discounted adult ticket.

To redeem a discount code or ticket voucher/complimentary pass (excluding Gift Cards) simply:

  • Select your preferred screening
  • Enter your unique Code and Validate
  • Select your discounted or complimentary ticket and Add To Cart
  • Follow to prompts to proceed to checkout and complete the transaction

Please check the terms and conditions of each voucher as they may differ.

Weather

If we cancel your screening we will:

  • SMS the mobile number of the person who booked your ticket (hopefully they’ll share this with you if that wasn’t you).
  • Put a CANCELLED message across the screening page on the website.
  • Email the person who booked your ticket with instructions on how to exchange your tickets (see next FAQ)

Damn! We had to cancel the screening. You would have received a text message & email from us, in that email there will be instructions on how to exchange your tickets. If you did not receive these instructions then simply head to your ACCOUNT and follow the exchange process above. Don’t worry, you won’t get charged an exchange fee for a cancelled session.

Eat & Drink

No. Sunset Cinema is a fully licensed event with alcohol only available if purchased at our Snack Bar on-site.

Of course! Nothing beats a good picnic spread under the stars. You can also bring non-alcoholic drinks. We also have a range of food options onsite if you’d rather pack light.

There is a fantastic range of food and drinks available every screening night. Ranging from popcorn, sweets, non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks at our Snack Bar to hot meal options at our food vendors. Hot food can be ordered through our Mr Yum QR code and you will receive a text message when it is ready to pick up.

Venue

Sunset Cinema Mount Martha is located at The Briars which is at 450 Nepean Highway, Mount Martha.

Our venue is a smoke-free area and we do not allow smoking or vaping at Sunset Cinema.

Sadly no. As much as we love our furry friends, we have restrictions set by our venues. We hope that in the future we can revisit this restriction.

Disabled parking is available free of charge at the event sites. While Sunset Cinema is an outdoor event held mainly on grass with uneven gravel access paths, there is some relatively flat areas where any guests in wheelchairs can comfortably sit and watch the films.

If you or any other guest requires wheelchair access to any of our venues, please let us know in advance and that way we’ll make sure one of the Sunset Crew looks after your parking and sitting location. You can contact us at info@sunsetcinema.com.au

If you’re still on-site and can’t find something, report it to one of our staff and leave your details.If you have already left the cinema, send us an email at info@sunsetcinema.com.au and we will have our staff look for you.

Seating

We have a range of seating options available to hire online and sometimes at the venue. CLICK HERE to see the range. We recommend purchasing them early online as they often sell-out.

Of course, picnic rugs, pillows and lawn chairs are welcome at Sunset Cinema. We want you to be as comfy as possible! However, if your seating is high and will restrict other’s viewing then we do ask that you sit towards the back of the grounds.

Groups

If you are looking at hosting a group of more than 40, please contact us.

Gift Cards

Our e-gift cards are redeemable for anything available to purchase online. This includes tickets and seating.

  • Select your Sunset Cinema session at sunsetcinema.com.au
  • Choose your tickets, add them to your cart & proceed to checkout
  • Sign up or login to our ticketing provider
  • Enter your Gift Card code under ‘Gift Card Code’ in payment methods and click APPLY
  • Complete transaction & enjoy the film!

All our Gift Cards are usable for the full period of the 2022 – 2023 Sunset Cinema season and expire at the end of the season. Please make sure you check the location’s exact screening dates as they differ at each location. Please be aware that any un-used amount cannot be refunded.
