To fully enjoy your Sunset Cinema experience, we suggest the following things: – Layering up or bringing a blanket for those chillier summer nights. – Insect repellent to keep those mozzies away! – If you haven’t hired any seating then you are more than welcome to bring you own rugs, pillows, lawn chairs ect. Just be aware that taller chairs will be restricted to the back of the grounds so that everyone can see the screen. – If it looks like it’s going to rain then a poncho is recommended as we will only cancel the session if the weather becomes heavy and dangerous. We will also have a limited amount of Ponchos and blankets available on-site. We discourage open umbrellas as they block other’s views, but certain circumstances allow for it. – Friends, Family or Dates; Sunset Cinema is best enjoyed with others!

No. Sunset Cinema is a fully licensed event with alcohol only available if purchased at our Snack Bar on-site.

Of course! Nothing beats a good picnic spread under the stars. You can also bring non-alcoholic drinks. We also have a food vendors and a snack bar onsite if you’d rather pack light.

Our venue is a smoke-free area and we do not allow smoking or vaping at Sunset Cinema.

Sadly no. As much as we love our furry friends, we have restrictions set by our venues. We hope that in the future we can revisit this restriction.

Street parking is available on Murphys Avenue and in nearby streets.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

The FREE Gong shuttle bus does a circuit linking the Botanic Garden to the city, the beach, the University, Innovation Campus and Fairy Meadow. The service operates between 7am and 10pm from Monday to Friday. Every 10 minutes during peak (7am – 9pm & 3pm – 6pm) and every 20 minutes off-peak. The weekend service operates every 20 minutes between 8am and 6pm. The Gong Shuttle is wheelchair accessible. Buses travelling via Fairy Meadow – Harbour – Hospital are route 55C and buses travelling via Hospital – Harbour – Fairy Meadow are route 55A.

ACCESSIBILITY

Wheelchair accessible parking is available in the Murphys Avenue carpark (please ensure your sticker is clearly displayed) and access for people with limited mobility is possible to most areas of the cinema site via a concrete pathway however please note the site is not level.
